Full-length cloth sunroofs.
They offer literally no pluses over a conventional glass or metal sunroof, and are probably a pain in the ass to replace/fix. Yet I prefer them over glass sunroofs.
God I'm strange.

That is the ONLY thing thats redeeming of the Jeep Liberty.

Most definitely.

They can be a lot longer. That makes them better than glass sunroofs. I always wanted to cut up the roof on my 91 Civic hatch and install one of the bad boys.

DO IT.

Ive got one on my 318ti, it's actually A LOT better than a standard glass sunroof, its got about twice the area and makes it feel like more a convertible than a sunroof

Sadly I can't. The old girl is long gone taken out by a 16 year old girl in her Dad's Aurora.

God I want a 318ti SO. BAD.

Aye, that always sucks.

They get way too much hate for what they are, no they're not particularly fast but they're pretty much identical to the late E30 318is which gets a lot of praise

I never understood why it was hated on. It's a somewhat cheapish BMW, it handled well, and it had the awesome roof. There wasn't really anything about it not to like except maybe the lack of POWAH.

Exactly, it only weighs 2700lbs which isn't too too much, its got E30 rear suspension and E36 front so the tail likes to swing out but the front hold enough for you to control it and the M44 is a good revy engine once its over 4000, I autocross mine which is about 98% stock and I'm regularly in the top 5 in PAX, plus being a hatch its stupidly practical

Exactly.
...Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be looking for 318ti's with the Cali roof.

Just beware of ones with bad motors (for the cali roof) cause if they're shot theres no real replacing it, but if you get a working one all you have to do is simple routine maintenance which you should be ready for anyway when buying a 15-20 year old BMW

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!! I love canvas sunroofs! The 318ti and Isetta are the two best BMW's ever made because of that feature.
They do weigh less than glass also :)

I really didn't know that you could get a Liberty with a canvas sunroof.

This one should stop while it's still on the roof, like the 318ti and Liberty examples above.
The stupid smart car gets a pass because its top goes ALL the way down to where you can see out the back with the top down.
Either make it go down ALL the way (smart car), or just make it stop on the roof (318ti, Liberty).

Totally there with you. One of the first cars I ever drove was an Innocenti Cooper (Italian-built Mini), and it had a full-length Webasto slider.
